Two new coffee shops are brewing in Gordon Square.
Atmos Coffee (5509 Detroit Ave.) is set to open in the coming weeks. It'll offer small-batch coffee, Belgian waffles and soothing vibes — plants, subway tile, Midcentury Modern-inspired furnishings — for work or gab sessions.
Vessel Coffee Collaborative (5019 Detroit Ave.) will feature rotating roasters, cocktail-inspired lattes and workshops.
The latest: Vessel's founders wrote in a Facebook post this week that they are nearly ready to open, focusing now on "finishing touches and getting our inspections done."
Zoom out: They'll join Gypsy Beans & Bakery and Ready Set Coffee, clustered along the same stretch of Detroit.
The intrigue: Both new concepts come from industry vets and look thoughtful, community-driven and distinct.
But is the corridor nearing coffee-shop saturation?
