Lake County Captains unveil alternate "Fish Fry's" identity

The Lake County Captains have unveiled a new alternate identity for the 2026 season: the Lake County Fish Fry's.
State of play: The Guardians' High-A minor-league affiliate will wear the alternate Fish Fry's uniforms for two games this season:
- 🐟 Friday, April 3 vs. West Michigan
- 🐟 Saturday, July 11 vs. Lansing
The big picture: The rebrand pays tribute to Northeast Ohio's sacred — and occasionally over-the-top — Lenten fish fry tradition.
- A new mascot, "Benny the Blue Pike," is a nod to the native Lake Erie fish declared extinct in 1983.
What they're saying: Team officials say the concept reflects Lake County's culture of community and family while building on the Captains' existing ballpark food identity.

What's next: The 2026 season opens Thursday, April 2 at Classic Auto Group Park in Eastlake.
