Cleveland City Council kicked off Tuesday what will be two weeks of intensive meetings to discuss this year's city budget.
Why it matters: The marathon public hearings are an annual tradition.
They are the most in-depth dissection of how the city allocates its resources — roughly $920 million of expenditures in this year's mayor's estimate.
What they're saying: "Building a responsible budget in an environment like this requires discipline, creativity and an unwavering focus on the long-term," Bibb said in opening remarks.
He called the budget a "moral document" and said it reflected his administration's commitment to innovation, responsiveness and fiscal discipline.
Stop by: The hearings are open to the public and available to stream on Cleveland City Council's YouTube page.
