Foo Fighters finally bringing stadium tour — and Ohio-born Dave Grohl — to Cleveland

Foo Fighters have played stadiums in seemingly every major city in the country — except Cleveland. That'll change next year.

Why it matters: The 2021 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees will play Huntington Bank Field with Queens of the Stone Age on Aug. 10 — one of the biggest rock shows Northeast Ohio has seen in years.

State of play: Cleveland is one of just 12 dates on Foo Fighters' 2026 North American stadium tour, announced Thursday. Tickets go on sale on Oct. 31.

• The tour announcement also comes with the release of Foo Fighters' new single "Asking for a Friend."

Between the lines: The concert will mark Foo Fighters' first Cleveland show since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins in 2022.

• The band played its first show with new drummer, Ilan Rubin (formerly of Nine Inch Nails), in California last month.

What they're saying: "Since our return to the stage in San Luis Obispo five weeks ago, we have been reminded of why we love and are forever devoted to doing this Foo Fighters thing," Dave Grohl said in a statement.

Flashback: Grohl was born in Warren, Ohio and Foo Fighters have played memorable shows in Northeast Ohio over the past 30 years.

• The band played an intimate concert at House of Blues on Oct. 28, 2021 — two days before being inducted into the Rock Hall at Rocket Arena by Paul McCartney.
