The intrigue: Several other guests have obvious ties to the class of 2025. David Letterman, for instance, has long been an advocate for Warren Zevon's induction.

• Taylor Momsen, of The Pretty Reckless, is a huge fan of Soundgarden. Hip-hop artists Sleepy Brown and Killer Mike are longtime associates of Outkast.

Iggy Pop is a good bet to induct fellow Michigan rockers The White Stripes.

• Other guests include Beck, Brandi Carlile, Flea (of the Red Hot Chili Peppers), rapper J.I.D., R&B singer Maxwell, drummer Questlove and British singer Raye.

Between the lines: The Rock Hall also revealed its inductee exhibit will open inside the museum on Oct. 31.

• Artifacts include the handwritten lyrics to Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time," Chris Cornell's guitar and outfits worn by The White Stripes.

What's next: Several questions about the ceremony remain, including whether Outkast reunite, if The White Stripes will show and potential stand-ins for the late Soundgarden singer Cornell.
