All 32 NFL teams were required to trim rosters to 53 players yesterday afternoon.
Why it matters: Two of the more high-profile moves were made by the Browns, including trading quarterback Kenny Pickett to the Las Vegas Raiders for a 2026 fifth-round pick.
Cleveland acquired Pickett from the Philadelphia Eagles in March for a 2025 fifth-round pick and quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson.
Between the lines: The Browns will carry three quarterbacks on the active roster heading into the regular season, including starter Joe Flacco, and rookies Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel.
Deshaun Watson is on the physically unable to perform list as he recovers from a torn Achilles tendon.
State of play: The other big roster move came yesterday when the Browns released former Pittsburgh Steelers Pro Bowl wide receiver Diontae Johnson.
Cleveland's full roster is listed on the team's website.
