👋 Sam here. The best thing I drank this week was the Mazapan Latte from Dahlia Coffee.
Catch up quick: Dahlia, named for Mexico's national flower, is the creation of Natalia Alcazar, who left a corporate career in Portland, Oregon to launch her coffee business in Cleveland in 2023.
The latest: The coffee shop on West 114th Street and Berea Road was burglarized earlier this month and temporarily closed.
Supporters hosted a cash mob over the weekend to help offset lost business. I was out running errands and swung through.
What I ordered: Ninety-five times out of 100, I'm ordering drip coffee, but I splurged on one of Dahlia's most popular offerings.
The Mazapan Latte is a rich and decadent sweet treat, flavored with peanut and hazelnut and topped with crumbled Mazapan peanut candy.
Stop by: Dahlia also sells whole coffee beans from Mexico and Central America for $17.99.
It's open 7am-3pm Wednesday-Friday, plus 9am-3pm Saturday and Sunday.
