Haslams are making bank on the lowly Browns

The Browns may struggle on the field this year, but the team's value is on the rise.

By the numbers: Sportico's annual valuation of NFL franchises places the Browns worth $6.14 billion, a 19% increase from 2024.

That ranks No. 23 among all 32 NFL teams, but ahead of Ohio's other NFL squad — the Cincinnati Bengals came in last at $5.5 billion.

The big picture: The average value of an NFL franchise is $7.13 billion, up 20% from a year ago.

The Dallas Cowboys once again had the highest value at $12.8 billion.

Zoom in: By local comparison, the Cavaliers are worth a projected $3.95 billion, per Sportico's most recent NBA list, while the Guardians are worth $1.5 billion.

Browns owners Jimmy and Dee Haslam purchased the team for $1.05 billion in 2012.

What's next: Cleveland begins the NFL Season on Sept. 7 against the Bengals at Huntington Bank Field.
