👋 Sam here. The best thing I ate this week was a meal at Lakewood's BottleHouse Brewery — formerly Eugene Kitchen at BottleHouse.
Driving the news: Cleveland Magazine published its list of the 30 Best Burgers in Cleveland last week, and I was jonesin' to sample the ones I haven't tried.
Between the buns: The Tinman Burger at BottleHouse ($14) earns its place.
It's a product of Chef Michael Schoen and the former Ohio City Galley — piled high with two quarter-pound smash patties, Great Lakes American cheese and special sauce on a toasted challah bun.
I'm a no-pickle guy, but pickles come standard.
Pro tip: Go with a date and split some shareable plates.
The six-piece chicken tender platter ($14) is decadently breaded and drizzled with hot honey.
And the chunky, spicy cucumber appetizer ($7) was the perfect palate cleanser.
Verdict: I find BottleHouse's beers hit or miss, but the food is better than 90% of the region's pub grub.
If you go: Hours vary Tuesday-Sunday at 13368 Madison Ave., Lakewood.
