The worst pothole in Cleveland is the "archaeological dig site" on Detroit Avenue between West 52nd and West 54 Streets, according to WKYC.
State of play: Comedian and TV personality Mike Polk Jr. solicits nominations from viewers each year to compile his annual "pothole awards."
This year, runners-up included:
The gaping sinkhole at Berea and Madison.
The slaloms of Coventry Road in Cleveland Heights.
The voluminous foxholes on Ann Arbor Drive in Parma.
The crater on Euclid Avenue across from the Windermere RTA station.
🎢 What they're saying: "This yawning chasm was practically a ride at Cedar Point," Polk wrote of the East Cleveland pothole on Euclid.
By the numbers: The city hasresponded to 1,590 pothole service requests this calendar year, using over 1,100 tons of asphalt to repair more than 800 potholes thus far, per Polk's reporting.
