Shivering Guardians fans can grab a bottle of beer and pub grub a stone's throw from the left field gate.
State of play: The Stadium Sports Bar & Grill is now open on Bolivar Road, in a location that has turned over so rapidly in recent years that it might as well be cursed.
Catch up quick: It's perhaps best remembered as Tops & Bottoms, the topless gentleman's club shut down in 2013 by former Councilman Joe Cimperman.
What they're saying: "More recently it was Victory Alley Sports Bar. After that bar closed in 2021, it was briefly home to Fin & Feathers. And after that, the Frozen Daiquiri Bar, which had an even briefer existence," writes dining critic Doug Trattner.
Vibe check: The current venue has been reimagined as a sports bar and lounge, with a trio of enormous TVs above the bar and ample seating at tables, banquettes and couches.
- A full-size basketball hoop presides in the rear, along with football field-inspired decor.
🌭 What I ate: Chili cheese dawgs ($11) — a platter that comes with two beef franks on griddled buns and fries.
- I also picked at the Stadium Sampler ($17), which comes with boneless wings, onion rings and mozzarella sticks, though it seemed a bit meager for the price tag.
Friction point: The Stadium does not, as yet, have beers on draft. Nor are there craft beers available in bottles or cans.
Yes, but: A tap system, and a wider beer selection, is forthcoming.
- For now, you can't beat the convenience before a Cavs or Guardos game.
Pro tip: Pay attention to the bill. An auto 20% gratuity was added to mine — something I'd never encountered as a solo diner.
