Domestic flights out of Cleveland Hopkins International Airport are cheaper on average than those out of other major U.S. airports. But just barely.
By the numbers: Average domestic airfare out of CLE ran $354 in the third quarter of 2024, per the latest Transportation Department data.
That's just $12 less than the average for all U.S. airports.
Zoom in: Washington Dulles International, John Wayne (Los Angeles) and San Francisco International are the costliest U.S. airports to fly out of domestically.
Fort Lauderdale is the cheapest, with average airfare at only $252.
The latest: The budget airline Frontier just announced new direct flights from CLE to Boston and Nashville starting in May, bringing their total destinations to 22.
What we're watching: Will the added low-cost routes and promotional fares bring down Cleveland's average significantly?
