Neil Young to make long-awaited Cleveland return this summer

Neil Young is set to play his first concert in Northeast Ohio in over a decade.

Driving the news: The two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Famer announced his "Love Earth World Tour" on Monday, which will stop at Blossom Music Center on Aug. 15.

Young will be joined by his new backing band the Chrome Hearts.

Zoom in: Young hasn't brought a proper tour to the area since performing with Crazy Horse at Cleveland State's Wolstein Center in 2012.

He hasn't played Blossom in 25 years.

Flashback: Young was inducted into the Rock Hall as a solo artist in 1995 and again as a member of Buffalo Springfield in 1997.

The latter marked the first induction ceremony held in Cleveland at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel.

What's next: Young and the Chrome Hearts are working on a new album that could be released as soon as April.
