Lorain Avenue between West 117th and West 140th Streets boasts some of Cleveland's most eclectic and little-known ethnic restaurants.
And now it's got a hot new cocktail bar.
State of play: Bad Medicine (13334 Lorain Ave.) opened late last year. It has quickly become a popular haunt for the West Park crowd who previously had to travel to Lakewood or Tremont for their elevated mixed drinks.
Vibe: As aurally lush inside as it is visually nondescript outside.
(It may take a moment for your ears to adjust to the music.)
Dig in: The menu, styled as a vinyl record jacket, features classic and bespoke cocktails in the $15 range, plus a handful of tantalizing appetizers and mains.
🍸 What I drank: The Jackrabbit, Bad Medicine's sumptuous take on an Old Fashioned.
Verdict: It joins Cloak & Dagger, Porco's, Amazonia and LBM on Cleveland's A-list ambient cocktail destinations.
Plus: As Doug Trattner notes in his recent review, "the addition of a unique destination-worthy venture will bring outsiders in, serving as a jumping-off point for newbies to explore the neighborhood."
