It took 11.5 minutes, on average, to drive six miles in Cleveland in 2024.
Driving the news: That's according to TomTom's annual Traffic Index, released Tuesday.
The study used data collected by "over 600 million devices" and "over 61 billion anonymous GPS data points around the world," the company says.
The numbers are based on city centers — "the densest areas that capture 20% of all trips within the city-connected area."
Between the lines: Lots of factors go into how quickly you can traverse a city by car, including traffic congestion, construction and weather.
Biking and public transportation are attractive alternatives in cities with especially slow drive times.
Zoom in: A popular Cleveland selling point is its ease of travel and relative lack of congestion. "You can get anywhere in 20 minutes," the saying goes.
