The house from "A Christmas Story" is one of the most iconic dwellings in holiday movie history. It's also one of the cheapest.
The intrigue: A recent study by home warranty company Cinch Home Services looked at the values of popular Christmas movie homes.
The study used Zillow's Home Value Index to determine the average home prices in neighborhoods where the movie houses are located.
By the numbers: Topping the list was the McCallister mansion in "Home Alone" with a price tag of $1.56 million.
A space in Nakatomi Plaza from "Die Hard" (which is Los Angeles' Fox Plaza in real life) was second at $1.4 million, followed by the New York City apartment in "Elf" at $1.25 million.
The house in "A Christmas Story," which is set in Indiana, but filmed in Cleveland, was determined to be worth around $138,000.
Reality check: The prices don't consider how much nostalgia adds to the value.
The actual "Home Alone" mansion was listed earlier this year for a whopping $5.25 million.
Zoom in: The house in "A Christmas Story" was purchased for $150,000 in 2004 and then converted into a tourist attraction.
It was sold again for an unspecified amount last year. The previous owner said he'd been offered as much as $15 million.
