Bedrock riverfront plan could include hotel and music venue

What they're saying: "The concepts for the design are drawn directly from the inspiration, energy and ethos of rock music in Cleveland, Ohio — the Rock N Roll capital of the world," Bedrock wrote in its 13-page application, obtained by Axios via public records request from the Ohio Department of Development.

• "The hotel, theater and related amenities will deliver a multi-sensory experience purpose-built to immerse guests in the mindset of the music genre."

The intrigue: The brand names of the hotel and the music venue were redacted from the application materials.

• NEOtrans, which first reported the Transformational Mixed-Use Development (TMUD) application, spoke to local real estate experts who speculated that it may be the Detroit-based Shinola brand.

By the numbers: The project's private funding sources were also redacted, but $50 million in TIF bonds recently approved by the Port of Cleveland and a $4 million one-time investment from the state were listed.

• The project is expected to generate 3,000 construction jobs and 400 permanent jobs, per the application.

What's next: Construction could begin as early as January, but likely won't be finished for several years.
