The Cuyahoga County Public Library will host a grand opening ceremony for its new Brooklyn Branch at 7619 Memphis Ave. from 1-5pm Saturday.
State of play: The new 25,000 square-foot, $18 million facility will include community meeting spaces, study rooms, an Innovation Center and CCPL's first "big body play" interactive children's space.
What's next: The existing branch at 4480 Ridge Road is owned by Brooklyn City Schools.
Per Cleveland.com, the district plans to renovate the building into an early childhood/family resource center that will open next September.
Flashback: The Brooklyn Branch was built in 1991 and was the exclusive home of CCPL's toy collection from 1992-2007, the brainchild of former Brooklyn Mayor John Coyne.
