Cleveland Pizza Week returns for its sixth year

State of play: From Nov. 11-17, participating restaurants across Cleveland are offering $9 pizzas — from "signature pies to secret menu specialties."

Yes, but: Cleveland's fanciest and most celebrated pizzerias — like Il Rione, Cent's and Vero — aren't part of the promotion.

Between the lines: Diners are reminded that the Pizza Week pies sometimes run out and are encouraged to buy additional menu items and tip generously.

🍕 Sam's pick: I'd been meaning to check out La Pecora, the new "pizzabar hideout" on Larchmere, and this four-cheese pie looks like the perfect excuse.

• I don't know if I'll be able to resist the "Spicy Meaty" offering at BrewDog, with red chiles and chili flakes alongside pepperoni and 'Nduja sausage.

🗽 Troy's pick: I'm a sucker for New York-style pizza, so Mimi's in Middleburg Heights has been on my list.

• Sauced Wood Fired Pizza is a gem in Fairview Park and is only a 10-minute walk from where I live.
