The former home of "Untouchables" agent Eliot Ness hit the market in Cleveland last week for $3 million.
- As of Wednesday, the listing agency Karen Eagle Group tells Axios, it's already under contract.
State of play: The waterfront property is located within the private "Clifton Lagoons" community in Lakewood, on the shores of the Rocky River at Clifton Beach.
- The residence was initially constructed as a boathouse in 1901 for Cleveland inventor and car manufacturer Alexander Winton.
- Its former owners also include Vernon Stouffer, the founder of Stouffer Foods.
What they're saying: "It's a charming lakeside retreat that resembles a castle, despite its modest size," Karen Eagle tells Axios.

Flashback: After his Prohibition-era policing in Chicago, for which he's most remembered, Ness was appointed Cleveland safety director in 1935 and unsuccessfully ran for mayor in 1947.
