Cleveland Museum of Art named seventh best in the country by Washington Post

• NYC's Metropolitan Museum of Art ranked No. 1 and is the country's "de facto national museum," the Post writes, but Cleveland ranked higher than both the Whitney (No. 19) and the Museum of Modern Art (No. 8).

The intrigue: Though the Post allowed that CMA is a "cultural powerhouse," it said that "compared with peer institutions, its exhibition program has been sleepy of late."
