Trent Reznor, Nine Inch Nails to score "Tron: Ares"

The intrigue: The movie is a follow-up to 2010's "Tron: Legacy" and is scheduled for release in October 2025.

• A trailer was also shown during the announcement featuring NIN's 1989 song "Something I Can Never Have."

State of play: NIN members Reznor and Atticus Ross have scored more than 20 films, most recently the 2024 movie "Challengers."

• The duo has won the Academy Award for Best Original Score twice, for 2010's "The Social Network" and 2020's "Soul."

Flashback: NIN last performed in Northeast Ohio, where Reznor founded the band, at Blossom Music Center in 2022.

• The show featured a reunion of several original members.
