Huntington to reopen Buckeye-Shaker branch

Catch up quick: The branch at Buckeye Road and East 117th Street was one of 34 that Huntington announced it would close earlier this year.

• After residents petitioned, Huntington changed course and said it would close for six months while working with elected officials and area stakeholders.

What they're saying: "This is unheard of, but I can't say enough good things about Huntington Bank and its work with my office and residents who worked tirelessly to make the case why this branch is so important to the neighborhood," Cleveland city council president Blaine Griffin said in a statement.

What's next: Huntington says the branch will reopen by the end of October and will resume offering drive-through banking.
