👋 Sam here. I'll admit that as I write these weekly dispatches on Cleveland beer, I'm conscious of the West Side bias.
So sometimes I venture out East as a discipline.
Drinking the news: I'd never been to Voodoo Brewing on Lee Road in Cleveland Heights.
The Pennsylvania-based brewery opened its first non-PA satellite in Ohio in 2019 and prides itself on pub management and "quirky" beers.
What I drank: The Key Lime Kolsch, a 5%-ABV seasonal offering that seemed appropriate for a patio.
Verdict: Tarter than I anticipated. The Great Lakes Mexican Lager with lime is one of my favorite summer beers, and I assumed this would have a similar flavor profile.
