Fat Head's Head Hunter named one of 20 best beers in 2023

Fresh off earning gold medals at both the World Beer Cup in Nashville and the Great American Beer Festival in Denver, Fat Head's Head Hunter IPA has entered even more rarified air.

Brewing the news: Craft Beer and Brewing Magazine named Head Hunter one of the 20 best beers in America this month, winnowing its list from an initial pool of more than 1,000.

Head Hunter was the only Ohio beer to make the cut.

Between the lines: The editors conceded that given the overabundance of IPAs on the market, and on their annual list, new beers in that style had slim chances.

What they're saying: "This beer had almost no chance," they wrote. "Yet it was a consensus pick among our editors. Its profile is classic, but it feels bright and fresh for today's drinkers."

The bottom line: In a region not known for IPAs, Fat Head's co-founder and master brewer Matt Cole has created a masterpiece.
