If you're looking to expand your social circle, start by lacing up your sneakers.
Why it matters: Run clubs and walking groups are multiplying across Charlotte, giving newcomers and longtime residents an easy way to get moving while meeting new people.
Zoom in: Run clubs have been gaining traction as social hubs for years.
- In 2024, we reported on Gen Z's growing interest in running as a way to exercise, make friends and even find dates amid a loneliness crisis and the rise of remote work.
- Now, the city's run clubs are as much about finding community as it is about logging miles.
Finding your people can be as simple as finding your pace. Here are 29 Charlotte groups hosting recurring runs, walks and hikes where you can get moving and meet people along the way.
