Yes, you read that right. McKenzie here, with my newest edition of "McKenzie's Moves," where I try fitness and wellness experiences across Charlotte.
This time, I got the popular PRP "vampire facial" at SkinPharm, one of a number of Charlotte-area med spas offering the treatment.
What to expect: It starts with a quick blood draw from your arm. Your blood is spun in a centrifuge to separate platelet-rich plasma (PRP). It's then paired with microneedling or injected into targeted areas to help stimulate collagen production, tighten pores and improve skin texture, my injector Lori explained to me.
Zoom in: I paired PRP with SkinPharm's Gold Infusion treatment. It was virtually painless, required little downtime (making it summer-friendly) and left my skin glowier than I've ever seen it.
The big picture: PRP treatments start around $600 and are becoming easier to find in Charlotte, a nod to the city's growing appetite for luxury wellness.
