Suárez Bakery and Barra will close at Optimist Hall on June 30. Suárez Bakery has decided not to renew its lease at Charlotte's popular food hall, according to the bakery's Instagram post.
The latest: The beloved Charlotte bakery will continue to operate Suárez Bakery in Park Road Shopping Center, where its been a staple since it opened in 1992.
Context: The Optimist Hall location opened in 2020. It was their first time expanding into a restaurant space instead of strictly a bakery. Now the plan is to turn their focus back toward baking.
What they're saying: "As our Park Road bakery has continued to grow, we've decided to focus our efforts on our original mission: baking," the Suárez Bakery team said in the post. "Returning that focus to our bakery will allow us to continue investing in the baked goods and experience that you know us for."
