Uptown was buzzing yesterday as theUnited States men's national team took on Senegal in the first of two USMNT World Cup sendoff matches.

They'll face Germany in Chicago on June 6.
Charlotte FC defender Tim Ream was named USMNT captain for the tournament by head coach Mauricio Pochettino on Saturday.
What we're watching: Charlotte won't host matches in this summer's tournament, but has submitted a bid to host matches during the 2031 Women's World Cup.
What's next: The World Cup kicks off on June 11. USMNT faces Paraguay on June 12 at 9pm in the team's first match of the tournament.
