Optimist Hall is getting spicier

Poppycox, a Nashville hot chicken food truck, is expected to open its first brick-and-mortar location inside Optimist Hall this month.

What to expect: Hot chicken sandwiches, tenders and loaded fries will be menu staples.

• The signature Poppycox "Sando" is made with chicken breast, coleslaw, comeback sauce and pickles.
• Customers can also choose their spice level, ranging from "not hot" to "stoopid hot."

Context: The locally-owned business began as a delivery-only service in 2022 before expanding to host pop-ups around the city with its food truck.

• Once open, hours will be Sunday-Thursday 11am-9pm and Friday-Saturday 11am-10pm.
