Charlotte gets direct flights for Super Bowl weekend

What to expect: American will offer two flights per day from Charlotte to San Jose, California, on Feb. 5 and 6 and two flights from SJC on Feb. 9. The game is Feb. 8.

• Flights to San Jose will be Feb. 5-6 at 7:15am and 6pm.
• Flights back to Charlotte will be Feb. 9 at 7:30am and 11:10am.

Yes, but: Super Bowl flights from American's second-largest hub won't be cheap. Flights start at $1,127 for Feb. 5 and $1,537 for Feb. 6, according to a search of these dates on American's website.

Between the lines: American operates roughly 90% of CLT's daily flights. CLT is the carrier's second-largest hub behind Dallas.
