The EDIT Sale is back this month in a new location with over 6,000 designer pieces.
Why it matters: The semi-annual pop-up designer consignment sale is one of the most popular events for Charlotte fashionistas. People line up for hours to sift through an inventory of Chanel, Valentino, Ganni, Ulla Johnson, among other big designer names.
Context: The EDIT Sale started as a clothing swap between three close friends — Stephanie Bissell, Shelly Landau and Jennifer Shelton — in 2016.
- Now, it's a semi-annual event, with over 150 consigners and a vast inventory curated by the founders and their team.
What to expect: Tops, skirts, dresses, purses, shoes, accessories and coats in all sizes from designer brands such as Chloe, Celine, Chanel, Valentino, Staud, Miu Miu and Louis Vuitton. All are either gently worn or new with tags.
- You'll find pieces from Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard for under $200, for example.
- Clothes and accessories from Valentino, Carolina Herrera, and YSL, which typically retail for $800-$1,000+, are marked down to $300-$500.

Pro tip: The dressing room is shared, so wear undergarments you're comfortable in. Or be prepared to strip in front of strangers.
- There's plenty of room and mirrors, and fellow shoppers are respectful of each other. Just in case, there will be two female security guards standing by.
- These racks are packed, so you'll have a more relaxed experience if you shop on the last day. "Even on the last hour of the last day, you'll find great pieces," Blair Sanzone Scheuer, executive director of growth and strategic operations, tells Axios.
