Sala is a new cocktail and wine lounge opening next to Stagioni this Thursday, Sept. 18.
Why it matters: It's the latest project by chef Bruce Moffett — the force behind some of Charlotte's best restaurants, including Stagioni, Good Food on Montford and Barrington's.
The vibe: With Sala, Moffett is leaning into Europe's cocktail culture while keeping it neighborhood-friendly. He hopes people will stop by after work or before/after dinner at Stagioni.

Upstairs, there's a private dining space for about 20 guests.
- To rent, there's a food/beverage minimum of $3,000 on weekdays (Monday—Wednesday) and $5,000 on weekends (Thursday—Saturday).
- The five-to-seven-course menu served inside the private dining room will be served family-style from Stagioni's kitchen.

Sip on this: There'll be a rotating list of Italian, French and Spanish wines, plus seasonal and specialty cocktails.
- Seasonal cocktails include the Berry Bliss (vodka, blackberry basil, lemon, sparkling wine) and Sunset Pome (bourbon, pomegranate, honey).
- The cocktail menu has about nine styles of Negronis, eight variations of the Spritz and several Aperitifs.
Dig in: Expect Mediterranean-inspired bar snacks like raw oysters, seasonal ceviche, caviar and charcuterie.

The intrigue: If you've been to Stagioni, you already know The Villa in Myers Park feels like a European escape.
- The former estate, which also houses Ru Ru's Tacos, once belonged to Blanche Reynolds-Gourmajenko, a doyenne of Charlotte society known for her lavish parties and eccentric lifestyle.
- "While we may not go as far as Blanche did (with nude poetry readings), we like to think that we push the creativity in the kitchen and behind the cocktail bar," Moffett said in a statement.

Stop by: 715 Providence Road, in the former Toccare Day Spa space.
- Hours of operation will be Monday — Saturday, 4-11pm.
