148,000 people went bananas at Bank of America Stadium Friday and Saturday night watching the Savannah Bananas take on the Party Animals.
Why it matters: "This past weekend was nothing short of historic for Charlotte as we hosted the largest weekend of Banana Ball ever, welcoming over 140,000 fans to Uptown," Charlotte Sports Foundation CEO Will Pitts said in a statement.
Catch up quick: The games included appearances from current Carolina Panthers players, plus legends including Luke Kuechly, Greg Olsen and Jonathan Stewart. They were also a homecoming for Charlotteans Reece Hampton Eric Jones.
Hampton, a Charlotte Christian graduate who played baseball for the Charlotte 49ers, plays for the Party Animals.
Jones, a South Mecklenburg High graduate who played baseball at Davidson, plays for the Bananas.
