Surefire Market is a modern bodega at Camp North End that recently opened inside the former Leah & Louise spot.
Why it matters: Surefire Neighborhood Market was a popular food stop in Rock Hill before a fire destroyed it last July, the Observer reported. Its owners took their smash burgers and fried chicken sandwiches on the road, and their food truck quickly built a fan base in Charlotte.
Context: Surefire Market is the brainchild of brothers Magloire Lubika, Joel Lutuangu and Edric Lutuangu, who grew up running their family's longtime west Charlotte convenience store Jeman Express.
- "That's where we learned the value of serving the community with consistency, hustle and heart," Lubika said in a statement.

What to expect: Located at 301 Camp Road, the 1,800+ square-foot space has indoor and outdoor seating and late-night food options.
- The market's menu is similar to its food truck menu, plus new additions such as hand-spun milkshakes and curated retail goods.
- The retail goods section will comprise local brands across the food and beverage, home goods and lifestyle categories. Businesses can apply to be featured via Surefire Market's Next Up program on its website.
Between the lines: Surefire Market is a fresh take on the bodega, pairing good food with neighborhood convenience. But it's not to be confused with another new Camp North End tenant, La Bodeguita, a craft and wellness studio inside an Airstream.
- Surefire Market is next to Eggroll Company's new spot, which will open this summer.
Stop by: Surefire Market is currently in its soft opening phase and will be open daily 11am-9pm until Saturday, July 26.
- After the grand opening, the hours are Monday-Thursday 11am-11pm, Friday and Saturday 11am-1am and Sunday 11am-9pm.
