Charlotte Douglas International Airport expects970,000 passengers to arrive and depart the airport between today and May 27.
Why it matters: If you don't have a Real ID or other acceptable form of ID (passport, Global Entry card, military ID, permanent resident cards, Veteran Health Identification Card, etc.), you may experience longer wait times at TSA entry points.
The big picture: This year's expected passenger traffic is a 9% decrease compared to the same timeframe in 2024, according to CLT.
Overall, summer travel is expected to be 7% lower compared to last year.
What's next: American Airlines will launch a new seasonal flight from CLT to Athens, Greece, starting June 5.
This time next year, you'll be able to fly Etihad Airways' direct flight from CLT to Abu Dhabi.
