Late-night ice cream delivery is coming to Charlotte with The Scoop N Scootery

The Scoop N Scootery, an ice cream shop known for delivering ice cream and frozen yogurt sundaes until 2am, is set to open on Thrift Road in late spring.
Why it matters: Charlotte seriously lacks late-night food options, especially when it comes to sweet treats.
How it works: The Scoop N Scootery has a business model similar to Insomnia Cookies, which delivers cookies until 3am, but with a focus on ice cream sundaes.
- Place your order via Doordash or Uber Eats and get it delivered within 25 minutes, says Charlotte franchise owner, Patrick Knorring.
Dig in: The Scoop N Scootery offers dozens of signature sundaes to choose from — we counted over 60 on their menu. Or, you can make your own.
- Ice cream flavors include campfire s'mores, peanut butter Oreo, and blueberry pie. Many of the sundaes have "cores" like marshmallow fluff, Nutella and cannoli cream.
- Frozen yogurt flavors include cookie dough, moose tracks, and French vanilla.
- You can top your dessert with pie crust, Rice Krispies, dough bites, M&Ms or pretzels.
- They also offer cookies, floats, and shakes on the menu. Knorring says they'll eventually add sundae flavors exclusive to Charlotte.
Flashback: The Scoop N Scootery started as an ice cream truck in Massachusetts over a decade ago before opening its first brick-and-mortar shop in Arlington, MA in 2016.
- Today, the company operates three shops in the Boston area, with Charlotte marking its first franchise expansion.
Zoom out: The Scoop N Scootery joins a long list of new businesses along Thrift Road in west Charlotte, underscoring the area's continual and rapid development.
Stop by: The shop is targeting an opening date of late May or early June.
