Gluten-free bakery and ice cream shop team up for allergy-friendly event

• Both local businesses specialize in delicious treats for people with food allergies that taste just as good (dare I say better?) as their traditional counterparts.

What they're saying: "We thought since we have so many customers that overlap it would be great for them to be able to get delicious and fun items from both of our businesses at the same venue," Matt Cabana, AKA The Accidental Baker, tells Axios.

What to expect: Special menu items that are all 100% dairy, egg and gluten free. One example is an ice cream sandwich made with Seemingly Overzealous ice cream, sandwiched between espresso cookies dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with chocolate chips by The Accidental Baker.

• Cabana will bring items you can typically find at his pop-ups like sourdough, bagels, cornetti and cookies, plus specialty items like danishes, cacio e pepe bagels, and other items that are not typically on the menu.
• Black Sheep Coffee will also be there selling coffee.

If you go: The event starts at 9am on Saturday, March 22 at 1308 The Plaza.

Between the lines: Get there early if you want goodies from The Accidental Baker, he always sells out. At his last pop-up, for example, customers lined up starting at 7:30am for the 9am opening. He sold out his 650 items in less than two hours.
