Popular Denver steakhouse Guard and Grace coming to new development in South End

Catch up quick: This is the second tenant announced for Queensbridge Collective. Night Swim Coffee will open a new shop there later this year.

• The development, which will also include a 35-story office tower, is where Midnight Diner and Uptown Cabaret used to be.

Context: Guard and Grace, from TAG Restaurant Group, is led by owner and executive chef Troy Guard. It will be the restaurant's third location — the first opened in Denver in 2014 and the second opened in Houston in 2019.

What to expect: The 10,224-square-foot Charlotte restaurant will include indoor and outdoor seating, a full bar, private dining rooms and a 2,000-square-foot outdoor deck with panoramic skyline views.

Dig in: The menu will include beef, seafood, house-made charcuterie, seasonal vegetarian options, wine and cocktails.

What's next: Guard and Grace is expected to open in mid-2026 on the 10th floor at 1111 South Tryon St.

What they're saying: "Troy and his team have built a fine dining concept that's on basically every 'Best Of' list in the country — if not the world — and we are extraordinarily excited to see the great things they will do in Charlotte," Anthony Scacco, Riverside Investment & Development president, said in a statement.

Zoom out: Queensbridge Collective expects the first tower to top out in February, with residents in the building in the second half of this year. The second tower is expected to move forward later this year, per a press release.
