New country bar Nickyo's Rodeo opening soon in South End

Nickyo's Rodeo, a country bar with live music, karaoke and line dancing, opens June 25 in South End.
Why it matters: Nickyo's is the latest venture from Bottle Cap Group, the hospitality group behind The Rose Honky Tonk, which opened in South End last year and remains packed most weekends.
What to expect: The 8,600-square-foot western bar will host karaoke, live music and line dancing classes twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays.
- The inside space is anchored by a massive oval-shaped bar serving signature cocktails in cowboy boots, beer, wine and weekly drink specials, like $6 margaritas on Tuesdays.
- The indoor stage, with plenty of space to dance, will host live bands, country DJs and karaoke.
- The outdoor courtyard, called "The Outpost," has a satellite bar, live music area and lawn games.
- Once a month, it'll host a vendor market featuring local artists and creatives.
Flashback: Nickyo's Rodeo is a revival of Nickyo's Rodeo, a restaurant and bar that operated on Providence Road in Eastover from 1985 to 1994.
- The original Nickyo's Rodeo was owned by siblings Nicky and Bessie Panos.
- Bottle Cap Group business partners Valerie Brewer and Britton McCorkle, who were patrons of the original Nickyo's, say the new bar will honor the siblings and legacy of the space in its branding and design.

- Once open, hours will be Monday-Friday 3pm-2am and Saturday-Sunday noon-2am.
