Popular Mexican eatery Que Fresa has opened its second location in the Duke Energy Plaza in Uptown.
Why it matters: The restaurant's Uptown debut marks another addition to a wave of local tenants that have opened on the ground floor of the 40-story tower.
What to expect: Que Fresa Uptown offers much of the same menu as its first location in Wesley Heights, like its street and "preppy" tacos, bowls, $9.95 lunch specials and, yes, the viral soft-serve margarita flights.
Yes, but: This location offers exclusive additions — like an all-day breakfast menu, including a breakfast burrito, torta de huevos, and a huevos ranchero bowl.

The vibe: Uptown's Que Fresa has kept its signature pink and playful decor, except this time, with a Gen Z twist — like a gallery wall nodding to pop culture icons Charli XCX and Chappell Roan.

Sip on this: The bar — opposite the ordering counter — has a hefty selection of margaritas, tequilas (including tequila flights), mezcals and signature cocktails.

Context: Que Fresa Uptown marks the restaurant's second location — the first opened on West Morehead Street in west Charlotte in 2022.
- It's part of the Que Hospitality Group, owned by local restaurateur Manny Flores, which also includes Mexican chain Que Onda and Spanish tapas restaurant Catalú in South End.

Zoom out: Two other tenants to recently open on the tower's ground floor are both from local restaurateurs Joe and Katy Kindred — a third location of their all-day café, Milkbread, and Mediterranean fine-dining restaurant, Albertine.
Stop by: Que Fresa Uptown is at 530 S. College St.
- Open Tuesday-Thursday 11am-10pm, Friday-Saturday 11am-11pm and Sunday 11am-9pm. Closed Monday.
- Eventually, they'll open at 7am for breakfast.
