Charlotte's Home of the Year 2024: Best Dining Design goes to this Myers Park home with a swanky speakeasy

With hidden surprises around each corner, this south Charlotte home is our pick for Best Dining Room Design.
Why it matters: We received several nominations for our seventh annual Home of the Year award highlighting the latest real estate projects in our area. The designers of this stunning property earned a well-deserved seat at the table for their colorful scullery and modern speakeasy.
Design: Beth Keim, owner of Lucy and Co, aimed to provide a collective and cohesive balance between warm shades of black and subtle calming shades of green throughout the home.
- Other smaller details like chairs, lighting and abstract decor accentuate the contemporary look.
Who: Kelly McArdle Construction and Tim O'Brien worked in tandem to maximize space across the kitchen and dining areas for their clients.
- They added a large double kitchen island plus crafted textures and curves in the center of the house.
Layout: This four-level home has four bedrooms, four bathrooms and one powder room.
- It also has an open stairwell with custom chandeliers, a home office, a bunk room and a gym.
Bonus: The dining room has a fabulous bar hidden behind a textured art-filled wall.
- Plus there's a splashy wall-papered scullery (akin to a butler's pantry) tucked away from the kitchen yet visible throughout the open living space.
