This mountaintop mansion dubbed "Lazy Bear Lodge" just sold for $14,000,000.
Why it matters: It sets the record for being the most expensive home sale in North Carolina, according to Premier Sotheby's International Realty.
Catch up quick: The home originally hit the market in 2022 as the most expensive listing across the Carolinas for $29.75M. All the furnishings — down to the extensive western art collection — were included in the price tag, listed by Marilyn Wright with Premier Sotheby's International Realty.
- The lavish lodge was owned by the late Charles Weber, a real estate agent who also built more than a thousand units in six different apartment communities in his hometown of Fayetteville.
Who: The property now belongs to Alan Jay Wildstein, a Florida businessman.
- Natalie Earnhardt and Josh Aldridge with Premier Sotheby's International Realty brought the buyer.
Layout: The 8,700-square-foot estate, crafted by Bob Mann of ATTIC Design, spans over 5.86 acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It has five bedrooms, five bathrooms and two partial bathrooms.
- The main residence has a two-story waterfall and a 25-foot timber-framed Great Room.
- The Hobbit-style guest house has a golf simulator, wet bar, sauna, and exercise space.
- There's also a separate 3,000-square-foot party pavilion with accordion windows, a full kitchen, a dining area, and an expansive sitting room.
