Several local breweries collaborated to make a special beer in honor of Dan Wade, the co-founder of Wooden Robot who passed away in February.
Cosmic Ballet will be released today, Oct. 19, at 1pm at Town Brewing.
There will also be a silent auction from 1-3pm, featuring items from local breweries.
Why it matters: Proceeds from beer sales and the silent auction will be donated to Wade's family. The beer will be sold at most Charlotte breweries.
Flashback: Wade's tragic death shook the Charlotte community and breweries nationwide joined in mourning the beloved brewer.
The big picture: Recently we've seen breweries across the Carolinas bind together to help send supplies and donations to those affected in western North Carolina, including proceeds from the Higher Calling Hazy IPA.
You can also check out this list of breweries around Asheville that were affected by Helene.
The bottom line: The craft beer industry might be experiencing a nationwide slump, but our local brewers come together time and time again to support each other.
