Charlotte FC season ticket holders will pay higher prices for the 2025 season. The team sent out season ticket renewal notices on Wednesday afternoon.
Why it matters: Prices are going up for all of Charlotte's major league sports teams, which isn't uncommon. But only one of the three has produced a winning product of late — Charlotte FC.
State of play: Charlotte FC is sixth in MLS' Eastern Conference at 10-8-7 with 37 points. They're currently in a playoff position, with nine regular season matches remaining. Five are at Bank of America Stadium.
By the numbers: Prices will rise an average 6.1% for the upcoming season, which is in line with the league average, per a club spokesperson.
- Season tickets remained fairly unchanged for the current season, with the exception of 300-level (club-level) seats.
- Prices rose an average of 4% after the inaugural season in 2022.
Between the lines: Charlotte FC currently has the second-best attendance in the league behind Atlanta.
- Charlotte FC drew an average of 35,244 fans in 2022, 36,337 in 2023 and has an average attendance of 34,335 this season.
- The team has roughly 24,000 season ticket members.
The intrigue: Charlotte FC was the first Major League Soccer club to institute personal seat licenses (PSLs). The one-time fee helped fund Bank of America Stadium's $50 million renovations ahead of Charlotte's inaugural season.
Zoom in: Season tickets include 18 matches (17 MLS and one Leagues Cup), free Apple Season Pass (where MLS games air), opportunities to meet the team and other exclusive events, plus access to complimentary tickets for one away match through Crowns Up & Away.
- If you have two season tickets, you were able to opt for complimentary tickets to the Atlanta United match, for instance, through Crowns Up & Away.
- So far 4,500 tickets have been redeemed through the Crowns Up & Away program.
What's next: Season ticket holder options include keeping your PSL and renewing your season ticket or:
- Resell your PSL via Charlotte FC's marketplace, which is similar to what the Panthers offer. Your PSL must be paid in full before you can sell.
- You can also opt for a private transfer, again as long as your PSL is paid in full, meaning you can give your PSL to a family member or a friend.
