Charlotte's coffee scene is buzzing with a growing number of mobile coffee bars and takeout-focused cafés.
Why it matters: From walk-up windows and mobile carts with inventive menus (hello, pickle cold brew) to micro cafés making the most of a couple hundred square feet, these 14 spots prove great coffee doesn't need a big space.

Pertinacious Coffee
A mobile coffee bar with creative coffee drinks, matcha and pastries inside The Long Room in Plaza Midwood.
- The coffee bar is also available for private events and frequently collaborates with other local businesses, like Thrift Pony.

Astoria Cafe
Trendy coffee trailer situated along the Rail Trail in South End.
Stop by: The trailer is currently parked under the 110 East office tower at 110 East Blvd from Monday-Saturday 8am-4pm.

Caffeto Specialty Coffee
The small truck in NoDa sources coffee from its owner's family-owned farm in Manizales, Colombia.
Stop by: Find Caffeto between cocktail bar Chief's and Canvas Tattoo at 3012 North Davidson St from 7am-3:30pm daily.

The Chai Window at Twenty Two West
A walk-up window attached to jewelry and home decor shop Twenty Two West, serving hot and iced chai, plus chai popsicles and ice cream sammies.
Stop by: The storefront and window are both open Wednesday-Saturday 11am-6pm at 2338 The Plaza.

Babaloo Coffee Club
A cozy cafe serving globally influenced coffee drinks, sandwiches and pastries in a space designed for take-out.
Fun fact: Babaloo is a new concept from the teams behind South End Colombian restaurant Muraya and El Puro Cuban Restaurant in Madison Park.
Stop by: It's open weekdays 7am-4pm and weekends 8am-4pm at 1425 Winnifred St.

Provided Coffee Uptown
What began as a coffee cart in 2021 has since expanded into two brick-and-mortar cafés in Uptown and Concord.
Stop by: Provided Coffee Uptown is open Tuesday–Sunday from 8am-2pm at 325 E. 9th St.
- Provided Coffee Concord, located inside a renovated mill, offers more seating and shares its space with the vintage store Nothing New.

CHNO Coffee Co
A mobile coffee company with specialty lattes, teas and plant-based energy drinks.
Stop by: Currently, CHNO has a coffee bar inside Plaza Midwood's Crown & Honey Boutique at 1110 Morningside Dr.
