Sunflour Baking Company opens its new location near NoDa soon

Sunflour Baking Company will open its fifth location on Monday, Oct. 16.

It’s on the corner of North Davidson and Jordan Place, on the ground floor of the new Camden NoDa apartments near the old Amelie’s.

Why it matters: Sunflour, which first opened in 2009, is a Charlotte staple, but it hasn’t launched a new spot since its Ballantyne and Harrisburg stores opened in 2017.

  • “We’ve been waiting for the right spot in NoDa and I think we found it,” owner Jack Parrish told Axios when we first reported on the news in April 2022.

Zoom in: The new Sunflour will have the same menu as other Sunflour locations, plus new items like a Detroit-style crown pizza.

  • “We’re also considering serving alcohol, like mimosas for breakfast,” Parrish said.
  • In a few weeks he says they plan to open in the evenings Thursday-Saturday with dessert specials.

Details: Sunflour is located at 515 Jordan Pl., near the Urban District Market off North Davidson.

  • To start, it’ll open 7am-4pm daily.
