Barbie is the talk of the town, so we started imagining which neighborhood the dream doll would live in if she searched for a home in Charlotte.

Why it matters: The hot pink Barbiecore aesthetic is taking over local businesses and national brands ahead of the July 21 “Barbie” movie premiere. Tickets at Charlotte’s theaters are selling fast for the opening weekend.

  • We also noticed a recent increase in Barbie-themed brunches and parties while putting together our recent Weekday Planner and Weekender

Zoom in: A local designer and Airbnb host made the Barbie lifestyle a reality well before the trend emerged.

We decided to hop on the trend by turning Charlotte neighborhoods into Barbie Dream Land. Here’s what a Barbie house would look like in seven Charlotte neighborhoods, according to AI.

The bottom line: Charlotte has trendy architectural styles, in both the Barbie world and real life.
