New Bossy Beulah’s location opening in South End

The big picture: This year alone Noble will open three new restaurants: this Bossy location and one in Winston-Salem, plus a Mediterranean restaurant called The Jimmy in Myers Park, which is under construction.

Context: In the years since Noble signed a letter against Charlotte’s non-discrimination ordinance, many have criticized him and boycotted his restaurants for his anti-transgender views. Despite this, his restaurants are often busy and Noble Food & Pursuits continues to expand.

• Noble’s restaurants have also provided over 140,000 meals for those in need during the pandemic through his nonprofit the Dream Center, a spokesperson tells me.

Details: The South End Bossy will have indoor and outdoor seating, plus a walk-up window for order pickups. Build-out will take about six months.

• Expect a similar menu centered on Bossy’s $7 chicken sandwich called “The Beaut,” made with Joyce Farms chicken breast, pickles, and Duke’s mayo on a Copain bun.

What he’s saying: Noble tells me through a spokesperson that he’s “thrilled” to expand and is looking “forward to becoming a part of the South End community.”

Location: Bossy Beulah’s South End location will be at 2932 Griffith Street near Suffolk Punch and Triple C.
