Home of the Year is proudly presented by The Redbud Group at Keller Williams SouthPark, creating great experiences. Find your own dream home and browse Charlotte listings by neighborhood.
Our winner for best in mid-century modern design, this Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired home has punchy pops of color, intriguing patterns, and funky features throughout. Plus, it’s a refreshing departure from more traditional facades along Selwyn Avenue.
Homeowners: Wade Miller and Ann Hodges Miller
The home: 3,871 square feet, 4 beds, 4.5 baths
Biggest splurge: “The biggest splurge, and the most used, is the Australian Sparkling water tap by Zip Hydrotap in the scullery.”
From the designer: “Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s Darwin D. Martin house, the ‘Selwyn Residence’ is a modern take on the classic prairie home. Three concepts are key to this design: create meditative pauses in everyday life, connection to nature, and playful expression of art. The result of careful planning and detailed execution is a home that encourages you to explore nature, learn about yourself, and feel provocative doing so.” — Nick Navarro of Elite Design Group
